Father Ouzo

I’ve met a pastor named Shandy
And vicar named Brandy
And a sister named Whiskey, it’s true

But for my tribulations
Across this creation
There’s but one thing that can get me through

For when I’m gone
And it’s rough
It’s that licorice stuff
That leads me to my life again

He’s a Greek
Never weak
He’s a cloudy-white freak…

Father Ouzo, forgive me my sins.

My church it has a gold dome
In the place I call home
I’ll love it always come what may
May I never see the day
That I cannot return
My heart it always burns
For the people that I love the most
THE OUZO SON AND HOLY GHOST!

Father Ouzo!
Father Ouzo!
You’ll ne’er lead me astray
With you fighting by my side
I’ve courage everyday
I’ve read the Book
And had a look
For my sins and wrongs atone
Though scattered, twice-diaspora
WE NEVER WALK ALONE

A spirits for your spirit
Take my mind and clear it
Out; my boys, now fire free
This world will never let me be
My mind goes away
Who needs one anyway?
Because our cause is good and just
BOOZE AND DRINK AND RIGHTEOUS LUST

Father Ouzo!
Father Ouzo!
You’ll ne’er lead me astray
With you fighting by my side
I’ve courage everyday
I’ve read the Book
And had a look
For my sins and wrongs atone
Though scattered, twice-diaspora
WE NEVER WALK ALONE

I pray for God’s forgiveness
And He’s in the business
Of giving my soul just what it needs
(But I’ve drunk so much that I can’t see!)
Take my prayer past the clouds
Oh my heart it does abound!
Wait, what are those blinking lights?
HARBINGERS OF BEST DELIGHT!

Father Ouzo!
Father Ouzo!
You’ll ne’er lead me astray
With you fighting by my side
I’ve courage everyday
I’ve read the Book
And had a look
For my sins and wrongs atone
Though scattered, twice-diaspora
WE NEVER WALK ALONE…

[Sing slowly…]

Father Ouzo…
Father Ouzo…
Forgive me I have sinned
I drank ‘till I got pisskey
Picked up for drunken binge
These cops have me in shackles
Will righteousness prevail?
The world, it needs good men like you
(Now won’t you please just make my bail…?!)
